Emmett has had a strong interest in eCommerce since he completed a Masters in eCommerce in 1999. With over a decade in leading investment banks Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse, Emmett has billions of dollars of corporate finance expertise across equity, credit, and M&A. Emmett overseas all the deals that The Fortia Group advises on.

David Hyland

Co-founder & COO

A chartered accountant with >20 years experience, David leads the financial analysis, due diligence and closing processes for our clients’ exits. Prior to The Fortia Group, he was CFO of a leading SaaS platform that helps over 7,000 eCommerce sellers manage customer support, reviews, feedback and pricing. His background in tech and corporate finance has seen him lead on M&A for leisure, eCommerce and the software industry. David’s unique blend of financial and data storytelling enables him to identify the core KPIs that drive your eCommerce success.

Paul Hanley

Paul Hanley

Co-Founder & Director of eCommerce

Paul is an expert at both launching and accelerating brand growth on Amazon. He has historically worked with Amazon FBA agency Luzern and a fast-growing FMCG brand WaterWipes growing multimillion online revenues +108% in mature hyper-competitive Amazon marketplaces. Paul runs our Exit Ready programme at The Fortia Group.

Richard Jalichandra

Richard founded the first Amazon aggregator, 101 Commerce, which was acquired by an aggregator called Goja. He has been an advisor to aggregators and also advised several investors on due diligence of aggregators. During his career he worked on 25 M&A transactions worth nearly $1.5 billion of value and raised over $250 million of debt and equity financing.

Anthony was the CTO at Thrasio. In January 2022 he founded Swiftline, an eCommerce SaaS company, that provides an integrated data and technology platform to enable eCommerce sellers with optimization strategies, business-building solutions, and access to growth capital that drives success. He holds an BS and MS in CS from MIT and the MIT Media Lab.

Gerald is CEO of real.de. Real.de is one of the largest online marketplaces in Germany. It is owned by the Schwarz Group, Europe’s largest retail company with €113bn in revenue in 2019. Gerald is leading the growth of real.de and a 500+ person team.
